The Mayor visits the facilities of the Alzheimer's Association Lorca, restored by the earthquakes TRAGSA (25/01/2012)

The deal, valued at € 60,000 has been made possible by the City Council received a special award of that company and decided to allocate the amount to the rehabilitation of the headquarters of Alzheimer-Lorca.

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, with Fernando Artero, TRAGSA group Autonomy CEO for the Region of Murcia, and Teresa Camacho, President of the Alzheimer's Association of Lorca, presided over the delivery of keys to the local Alzheimer's Association Lorca, who has been rehabilitated by the company TRAGSA following serious damage to this infrastructure as a result of the May 11 earthquake.

Specifically, the company has undertaken actions TRAGSA as:

Debris removal, reconstruction of partitions, change of timber;

New plumbing, electricity, telecommunications and fire protection;

Placing ceiling, handrails in entrances and corridors;

Construction of a geriatric bath according to current regulations;

Painted walls, flooring with wooden floors, polished marble floors;

Redistribution of land for the center complies with the 69/2005 Decree of 3 June on the condition of residential centers for seniors.

The Mayor explained that the total cost of the work done amounts to the amount of 60,000 euros.

The completion of these works by TRAGSA is the answer to the award for Outstanding Sustainable Rural Development, awarded by this group Lorca City Council last June.

This is a prize to encourage pursuing projects related to social ties to help the recovery of our city after the May 11 earthquake.

The City Council, along with TRAGSA, we decided that this prize is intended to assist in the rehabilitation and refurbishment of the premises of Alzheimer's so important to our town and that many had suffered damage as a result of earthquakes.

The mayor has said also to remember that this association serves more than 40 users on issues such as therapeutic activities, workshops psychostimulation, support and rehabilitation activities at home, as well as individual therapy, group training and workshops .

As a result of the damage on 11 May, the Alzheimer's Association services Lorca had to move to Purias Day Centre, since our city could not dispense with the important work done by this organization.

But now, thanks to the solidarity of TRAGSA, the services of the Alzheimer's Association back to their local offering the best facilities for all those who have the need for them.
