The Department of Women Lorca City Council hosts its first short-story writing contest (27/01/2012)

Papers can be submitted by February 24 and must be related to the role of women as a fundamental pillar in crisis situations (family, culture, relationships, or violence).

The mayor of the City of Women Lorca, Lali Ibarra has reported that the Department of Women has called his first short story writing contest, which under the name of "Women" aims to promote equal opportunities between genders and the decrease prejudices and stereotypes and highlight their culture through time.

Ibarra explained that "this activity is part of the programming that the Consistory Lorca has prepared for the March 8 celebration of International Day for the Rights of Women".

Therefore, the work may be submitted from now until 11:59 on 24 February and must be related to the role of women as a fundamental pillar in crisis situations (family, cultural, interpersonal relationships, gender violence, ...).

Participants must have their habitual residence in any municipality in the Region of Murcia, and must present written the original computer, double-spaced on one side, with a minimum length of one page and maximum of two.

The work to go unsigned because the jury assessed under the escrow system, appearing in them just the theme or title, address, telephone number and email.

Papers may be sent to the email concejaliadelamujer@lorca.es (separating in a document on another short story and the author's data) or by certified mail to the Department of Women's Hall of Lorca, Street No. 29 Selgas , arising from this procedure an envelope with two copies of the narrative, a computer support to the work and the smaller one on the inside with the author's data.

The works must be original unpublished rigorously, not previously awarded in any other contest or compromise subject to editing.

They may not be aware of failure in any other contest on the date of expiry of the deadline for submission, or may be submitted to another contest until it is failed.

The jury, chaired by the council and composed of writers and equality experts, will assess both the treatment of equality between man and woman, as the use of inclusive language and literary quality and entertainment.

The council has stressed that the first prize will be equipped with 500 €, the second with a computer donated by Mateofic and the third with a weekend Hotel Puerto Juan Montiel of Eagles, confer a special consolation prize of 100 euros for the winner local If none of the three first prizes in a neighbor falls Lorca.
