The Councillor for Culture receives a grant of 627 € solidarity by Lorca choirs participating in the Christmas benefit concert (31/01/2012)

The Councillor for Culture of the Consistory, Sandra Martinez, thanked the collaboration of the members of the choirs Santa Cecilia, Bartolomé Pérez Casas, Modus Novus and Amadeus.

The Councillor for Culture of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, received this morning the donation of EUR 627.34 corals collected four Lorca in his Christmas benefit concert for the Bureau for Development of the Consistory to help those affected by earthquakes May 11.

Martinez thanked the choirs Santa Cecilia, Bartolomé Pérez Casas and Modus Novus, along with the musical group Amadeus, its contribution to solidarity with this action carried out in Loch Street (Next to the Bar's House), in which each choir performed four pieces Christmas individually, finishing with a performance of three works together for almost a hundred singers.

The collection was achieved with voluntary contributions from viewers in an urn installed for this purpose.

The Councillor for Culture recalled that any citizen or company can make a donation for those affected by earthquakes in the municipal account of Banco Santander with the number 0049 50 17 912 117 626 269.

The Solidarity Committee is helping Lorca are faring worse after earthquakes and pointed out that such contributions are being used to cover the basic needs of the victims.

With these donations the City Council has already delivered more than 3,600 grants Lorca, through support for basic needs for families who have lost their homes or are uninhabitable, advances rental assistance, aid to care for seriously injured and families of deceased causes of earthquakes, emergency repairs humble family homes ...

besides putting in place a plan to boost trade.

As you may recall, the Bureau for Development is the agency that the mayor created to facilitate transparency, control of income and expenditure of the donations received by the City Council after the May 11 earthquake, in addition to deciding which lines of help articulate with these contributions.

The Bureau for Development compose the Mayor, Councillor for Social Policy of the Autonomous Community, the Government Office, the three political groups and the Assembly Hall (PP, PSOE and IU), Red Cross, Caritas, Platform "Lorca, 11 May, "Association" May 11, We Lorca "Neighborhood Assembly Affected by earthquakes in Lorca, Lorca representatives of districts, Consulates of Ecuador and Morocco, Ciudalor, UPyD and Lorca Relief Committee, in addition to Economic and Budget Office of the City.
