Limusa progress in modernizing its fleet with the purchase of a truck with more capacity back (09/02/2012)

The truck being replaced annually has been carrying more than 5 million kilos of trash.

The load capacity grows by 1 cubic meter and will serve on the streets of the downtown area and in the neighborhood of San Cristobal.

Councilman Environment of the City of Lorca, Melchor Morales, along with Limusa Manager, Santos Gonzalez, presented this morning a new device to improve the cleanliness of our streets.

Morales said that "it is an investment of 150,000 euros with which Limusa retire one of its most dilapidated collection trucks in the fleet, which dates from 1999. Its case has grown in 1 cubic meter capacity, from 23 to 24 in response to increased demand for assistance to areas where collection serves. The municipal company has acquired this new collection with the intention of replacing the unit of the same brand that dates from 1999 and serves daily in the central of Lorca (Cheap Homes, La Alberca) and San Cristobal district, totaling 305,000 kilometers (made in urban route). Annually the truck has signed a workload close to 3,000 hours and over 5 million kilos collected ".

Councillor for the Environment has indicated that it is an Iveco Stralis three axes with 310 hp equipped with the latest amenities like air conditioning and automatic transmission, equipped with rear loading compactor collector brand and model Ros Roca Olympus 24 cubic meters capacity.

The vehicle meets the stringent Euro 5 and its overall cost amounts to 151,040 euros.

Towards full industrial modernization

Looking ahead to next spring, Limusa intends to acquire, given the demonstrated need for a fleet-performance bled away in another unit for the collection of rubbish bins in Uptown, which is required for a narrower truck and two steering axles , but of equal capacity.
