Employment Councilmember City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, explained that the Consistory has launched a new program of training and promoting employment among young people from the districts, called Em-T, which is part of the Initiative Urban Community of Uptown Lorca, financed by the European Union and the municipal coffers.

Ibarra explained that "10 Lorca have selected by open procedure posted on the municipal website to participate in this program, which will receive training while remodeling the Plaza del Calvario and upper Old Park Truth with tasks replacement of flooring, concrete, coated stone, etc.. "

The participants performed a working day from 8 to 14:00, and adult education from 16:00 to 18:45 hours, so you receive 75% of minimum wage.

The aim is to provide professional qualification under 25 years living in the intervention area of ​​the Urban Initiative, while receiving training to obtain certification in Secondary Education.

"With this initiative we meet three objectives: to educate them in a profession, and creating an employment and study habits, providing a monthly income, and improve a run down area of ​​the urban environment, which, as locals, then ensure your care" said Ibarra.

The program lasts 12 months and includes a career guidance work with career counselors.

The Urban Initiative for the "Barrios Altos de Lorca" is a project which aims to achieve social advancement and economic education in this area of ​​the city that includes the neighborhoods of San Lazaro, Calvary, San Pedro, Santa Maria, San Juan and San Cristobal.
