The PSOE has initiatives in the Congress to expedite the reconstruction of Lorca (22/02/2012)

The Socialist parliamentary group has submitted a non-legislative proposal for the House of Representatives urge the National Government to support the "Plan Lorca" and to supplement within one month.

Besides, presented a challenge to the Deputy Prime Minister on 7 March in this regard.

The PSOE wants to assume the Government of Spain in funding commitments for the next three years "to allow the construction and home renovation, repair of school and health provisions, the revitalization of the production, job creation, rehabilitation of heritage, and any other complementary investments to enable the revitalization of the municipality ".

It also calls for the drive necessary actions, together with government most directly affected, for maximum funding for "Plan Lorca" by the European Union, as well as provide the necessary resources to the Joint Commission that was created by Royal Decree-Law 6/2011 to expedite the processing of the records of flood relief.

Meeting in Madrid

The deputies Ramon Jauregui, Rordríguez Soraya, Maria Gonzalez and Pedro Saura Veracruz, participated this morning in a meeting with the Assembly of Neighbors affected by the earthquake of Lorca, in which they explained the efforts of the Socialist Parliamentary Group.

The meeting was also attended by the secretary general of the PSOE in Lorca, Juan Antonio Hurtado.

Aid sent that have not yet reached Lorca

After the meeting, Deputy Veracruz Murcia Maria Gonzalez explained that "socialists have reiterated our commitment to Lorca, as we did from the Government, and now also from the Opposition."

"But mostly I want to ask the PP government of the Region of Murcia to Lorca to convey to the aid already sent to the region the previous Socialist government, which unfortunately are still retained," he added.

The PSOE wants to be useful

Meanwhile, general secretary and deputy PSRM in Congress, Pedro Saura, said "we want to be useful, not to use Lorca and its future from a policy perspective, we want to help solve the problem."

"We also challenged the Deputy Prime Minister of Spain on March 7, and that will lead to a joint motion that we would agree with the other political forces, especially with the Popular Party, because the important thing is to be useful and get results as soon as possible, "he concluded.
