The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, participated this morning in the meeting between the parliamentarians of the House of Representatives and a representation of displaced residents to Madrid to remember the state of the town after the earthquakes.
The mayor was present at the meeting, which discussed the situation after the earthquake of Lorca on 11 May.
The neighbors have exposed the problems, while Members have indicated that they know the subject at first hand by the continuous meetings that have been maintained between the Aldermen of the City of Lorca, headed by its own mayor.
These concerns relate in the main form, to hasten the arrival of the aid approved by the first royal decrees, and the amendment of the provisions of the aid system to expand their coverage and include, among other issues, funding buildings still to be demolished by the damage that earthquakes occurred in them.
The Mayor has referred also to the need for new aid for rebuilding houses and traders, as well as the need to approve the Plan Lorca.
In this regard, Members have expressed their support to the Mayor and the need to specify the actions contained therein, annuities and funding thereof.
