The Department of Education will undertake actions to improve schools in Villaespesa, Campillo and Ramonete by the amount of 283,714.70 euros (18/06/2012)

These are schools that suffered damage from the earthquake last year and which will work this summer.

We have chosen this time to not interfere with the normal classes.

Councillor of Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, has reported that the Municipal will make a series of actions to improve our municipal schools.

Montiel explained that this is Villaespesa centers, Ramonete and Campillo, for which it is planned to allocate the amount of 283,714.70 euros.

The works are designed to repair minor damage to various building elements derived from the earthquake last year.

The mayor of Education has indicated that the last meeting of the Local Government Committee approved, in that sense, trails motions relating to the initiation of record for the award of the work at both schools.

In the particular case of CP Villaespesa is expected to allocate the amount of € 87,708.52, while the school Campillo invested € 79,743.26.

The amount to be allocated to jobs in the college of Ramonete is 116,262.92 euros.

Repairs to the school Campillo will focus on the fissure repación that have appeared both inside and outside of the building and construction elements affecting the façade of the center.

Inside the building the most affected areas are alicatdos, flooring, expansion joints, general painting, cladding and partitions.

In the work to be carried to term is foreseen forwarding service facilities, and to the new location.

Outside the building work will be to repair damage to the facade, as well as sealing of cracks resulting from the earthquake and the rectification of the damage to the perimeter sidewalk.

In the case of school Villaespesa you need to work both indoors and outdoors and on the cover of the center.

Inside you will work in the repair of cracks appeared in the coatings that have suffered landslides and require the restoration of walls and ceilings, including tapadado the cracks and repainting the affected areas.

It will also carry out the replacement of tiles in bathrooms and baseboards for protection.

In the outdoor work will be implemented to correct cracking in the outer wall and repair of roofs, where the earthquake has affected producing some water leakage.

The school Our Lady of the Rosary of Ramonete also damaged by earthquakes, especially those affecting the existing parapets in upland areas of the building.

Action to be developed is cntrará in arranging the walls of the façade, especially in the area located on the last slab in the ceiling of the upstairs, where the breastplate of the primary roof of the building presented by cracking displacement caused by earthquake shaking.

These led to the deterioration of the deck, which currently suffers from water leakage resulting from earthquake-nesting.

To correct the situation, the City will proceed to change the current metal roof for a traditional tile roof.

It also will change the wahoo and will proceed to the settlement of existing damage to the linings of the pilres the porch on the ground floor of the school.

Councillor of Education is anticipated that to expedite the processing of these works has invited companies to participate in the administrative procedure.

The work is scheduled to run during this summer, choosing this time the school holiday period to avoid interference in the smooth operation of the course.

The works must be completed before the start of next academic year.
