The folklore festival celebrates Almeria Lorca (16/07/2012)

Next July 17 will hold a folk festival for the people of Lorca, who on May 11, 2011 suffered several earthquakes that caused nine deaths, more than 300 injured and many of damage, almost entire historical, artistic and architectural was affected.

Have been demolished over 1000 homes and today, fourteen months later, still out of their houses more than 7,000 people.

The groups participating in this show are the School of Dance San Urban (La Cañada), Folk Group Alcazaba, Chorus and Dance Group "The Traiña" (Fish), Antonio de Torres Band Folk and Folklore Association "Our Lady of Health "Velez Rubio.

From outside the group will land Almeria Songs and Dances Virgin de las Huertas Lorca, however, the Municipal Group "Virgen del Mar" Almería City Council has refused to participate in this charity event, something that has come to understand from the organization.

The festival is organized by the Neighborhood Association and St. Urban Neighborhood Association ANTONIO TORRES, both in the neighborhood of La Canada, with the assistance of the City of Almeria (Areas of Citizenship and Culture), the Consistory of Lorca and Participants folkloric groups, coordinated by RAUL Magraner, Director of the School of Dance San Urbano.

Together, we will route through the diverse and rich folklore Almeria and have fond unreleased performances.

The price of entry, accessible to all audiences given the economic difficulties we are facing, is 6 euros, and the event will be held in the Auditorium Maestro Padilla Almeria, on 17 July at 2130 hours, whereas all proceeds will fully earmarked for the town of Lorca.

The festival has also benefited from the selfless help of companies like Pan Hidalgo, Coca Cola, Water Lanjarón, or people such as Cruz Castillo Paqui designated for arrangements of the auditorium, Adela Martinez and Maria Lozano, representatives of the organizing associations, the very Raul event coordinator and presenters Marisol Magraner Torrente (journalist Lorca) and Antonio Ruano (Lawyer Almeria).
