The Joint Commission approves more than 463,000 euros in aid to alleviate the damage of the earthquake in Lorca (28/08/2012)

A total of 10,538 cases have gone through the Commission, having approved aid for more than 36 million euros

The Joint Commission, established by Royal Decree-Law 6/2011 on urgent action to repair the damage caused by the earthquakes of May 2011 in Lorca, has given the go-ahead today to 60 requests for rental and home repair , accounting for 405,402 euros aid.

In addition, 12 grants have been approved for trading by 57,719 euros.

In total, 463,121 Euro.

The meeting, held this morning at the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, have studied a total of 169 records of requests for help stricken homes and shops damaged in the earthquake.

Participants in today's meeting the Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, representatives and technicians of the three governments.

The Commission, which was established on May 25 last year in Lorca, is tasked with assessing and quantifying the aid granted to individuals under the lease applications, reconstruction, rehabilitation or repair of houses that constitute the usual residence, and for the replacement of household necessities.

Records examined by meetings resolvent of housing and business records of the Joint Commission for a total of 10,538, representing more aid worth 36 million euros, of which 5099 are for housing aid.

Of these, 4095 were for repairs (26,197,596 euros), 32 for reconstruction (2,381,751 euros) and 972 for rent (6,852,470 euros) and 144 for the trade (749,261 euros).

A total of 36,181,078 euros in aid approved since.
