Lorca City Council has organized for Friday 12 October, on the occasion of Columbus Day, the traditional commemoration of the National Day of Spain and homage to the Spanish flag, to be held in the Plaza de Colón city, as is customary in recent years.
The event will begin at 11:00 am and will consist of the hoisting of the national flag to the strains of the anthem of Spain, a double honor for the city, since it was exactly a Lorca, Bartolomé Pérez Casas, who composed for Custom King Alfonso XIII, based on arrangements of the Grenadier March.
Since the city council is Lorca invites all to join in this celebration and thus homenajeen our flag, symbol of the Spanish nation and sign the sovereignty, independence, unity and integrity of the country, which holds as superior values ​​constitutionally recognized freedom, justice, equality and political pluralism, all within the framework of our social and democratic state of law.
