The study of archaeological sources for the historical reconstruction of Lorca between the second half of the twelfth century and the first half of the thirteenth century has been the subject of study of doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Murcia by Andres Martinez Rodriguez.
The collection and investigation of these sources, as indicated in this scientific work, has allowed a reconstruction of urban spaces that make up the city in this period, as well as rural communities and meet some of the structures for water use that irrigated agricultural spaces.
Most of the city was walled, so an important part of the study, which has been rated as suitable cum laude, discusses the walled enclosures of the citadel, the Medina River and the suburb.
The dissertation was supervised by Professor Francisco Jiménez Juan Alcázar.
