CajaMediterráneo Social Work and the City of Lorca are launching a leisure program for children with disabilities (23/10/2012)

The project will facilitate OCI respite for parents of ten Saturday morning, while their children participate in games, crafts, activities and sensory stimulation theater.

The Councillor of Social Services City of Lorca, Mari Carmen Ruiz, and the representative of the Social Work CajaMediterráneo, Antonio López, presented this morning the OIC project, to be undertaken with leisure activities free on Saturday mornings Lorca children with disabilities.

Ruiz explained that "this year will hire a dozen monitors that organized games, crafts, activities and sensory stimulation theater for 15 under 18 whose parents have applied to participate in this program after the meetings we have had with the Center Early Care, APANDIS and Soubrier Pilar College. "

"Recreational activities will take place in the Plaza de San Vicente, where each monitor will be responsible for one to three children on the basis of disability which has the least," said the mayor.

Thus, in the case of inclement weather participants could take refuge in the Cultural Fund Espin.

The project will be launched on October 27 and end on December 29 from 10 to 14:00, providing parents a time of respite care, in order to shop or enjoy activities that can be performed with their children.

It is expected that the participants made last Saturday a farewell party at his parents showing what they have learned by participating in a play.

This is the second time this program takes place in the town of Lorca, the first time in June 2011, shortly after the earthquake.
