The Women and Youth Councillors of the City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra and Agustin Llamas, reported that our city is hosting as part of the Youth in Action Programme, in which the association participates Intercultural Cazalla, the project "Gender Agenda" , a seminar consisting of 7-day among European Union countries (Poland, Latvia and Spain) and Eastern Europe (Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine) to find first a common understanding of what is " gender violence ", to compare our national agendas in this field and also share our experiences and best practices in the fight against this kind of violence and, secondly, to plan joint activities and strategies for action.
The seminar will target the oenegés group, youth workers and experts who are part of support and intervention systems in participating countries who already have experience in the fight against gender violence and to contribute their views, the achievements of its activities and the challenges they face in their day to day.
The methodology from which arises the seminar of the deep knowledge of the other, in a first step to discover the similarities and differences of views and experiences and actions in the field of gender violence and the current state of the same in our respective countries, and then identify the main problems and challenges we face as well as the role and oenegés can play in this field, working with aid agencies and care for victims of domestic violence.
After planning activities planned for the common strategy of action and non-formal education activities that we carry out once the seminar.
We will also create a support network for future work both locally and internationally.
