The Mayor opened the first Municipal Nursery School, which has capacity to serve 106 children (28/11/2012)

This is a facility whose construction and repair after the earthquake has led to the investment of 650,000 euros.

Jódar Francisco emphasizes that it is an "interesting tool for reconciling work and family life."

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, inaugurated this morning the new Municipal Nursery School, along with representatives of Banco Santander and the Rotary Club.

In this way our city has to end with its first Municipal Nursery School, a center that will supplement the local educational journey that counts today with teachings of any kind: nursery, primary, secondary, college and graduate.

Through this center, which is managed by a cooperative composed lorquino staff is taught the first cycle of primary education.

The facilities include:

6 rooms for students.

Kitchen.

Multipurpose room.

Cafeteria.

Playground.

Grooming each classroom.

Spaces for management, administration and staff room.

The mayor has indicated that this new center, a landmark education for our town, offering 106 places for children Lorca.

Specifically are 26 places for children aged 1-2 years, in two classes, and 80 for students from 2-3 years, in a total of four classes.

This is therefore an important educational resource, but also a very interesting tool for reconciling work and family life.

This facility became operational at the beginning of this course.

The launch of this center has been made possible by the collaboration of two organizations that have wanted to contribute their help and push for Infant School could open its doors in this course.

Remember that the May 11 earthquake also caused extensive damage to the infrastructure, just as I was about to conclude its construction.

At the recovery process have contributed decisively the Santander Group, which made a generous contribution to restore various city facilities, investing 115,000 euros in the rehabilitation of the center, and the Rotary Club, which has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to Lorca through various initiatives and grants, and assuming the cost of creating the kitchen that is necessary for the school and its students.

The total investment required for this new service for citizens was around 650,000 euros.
