The Community advances in the bidding for the rehabilitation of neighborhoods Lorca (08/02/2013)

Nearly 53 million will be invested in the urban regeneration of the city by the EIB loan obtained

The Director General of Planning and Housing, Yolanda Muñoz, met this week with the Town Planning, José Joaquín Peñarrubia and Works and Services, Angel Ramon Mecca, the city of Lorca, in which advanced on tenders the rehabilitation of neighborhoods Lorca processing the Ministry of Public Works and Planning.

"The regional government has made an effort and has expressed a firm commitment and responsible with Lorca and the region to facilitate the realization of a wide range of actions to undertake urban renewal the Department of Public Works and Planning in the most affected by earthquakes, "the director recalled.

The actions in which the regional government will work for the repair and rehabilitation of basic infrastructure and focus on recovery emblematic public spaces of the city.

Yolanda Muñoz explained that "the work we are addressing them from a dual perspective of a hand, inspecting and repairing basic sanitation, water supply, electricity and road in the streets."

On the other hand, said the director, "best actions are undertaken and optimization of environmental quality of public spaces beautifying spaces, adapting the environment to adapt accessibility criteria and criteria of efficiency and energy sustainability."

These actions are aimed to recover the lives of the public and boost trade and tourism in the city and, according to Yolanda Muñoz, "most importantly, contribute to the regeneration of regional employment and, of course, of Lorca."

EUR 53 million for urban regeneration of Lorca

The Director General of Planning and Housing said that the Autonomous Region will invest about 53 million euros in the urban regeneration of the city, thanks to the loan taken by the region with the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The framework for action is focused in the following neighborhoods:

Barrio de San Fernando (2.1 million euros)

Barrio de La Viña (9 million euros)

Neighborhood Alfonso X (6.8 million euros)

Neighborhood of San Jose (5.7 million euros)

Barrio de San Pedro and Uptown (18.5 million euros)

Barrio de San Diego (8.1 million euros)

Accessibility shot Lorca Castle (2.2 million euros)

Seismic microzonation (120,000 euros)

Mobility Plan neighborhoods (250,000 euros)

The actions to be implemented under the budgets of the Department of Public Works and Planning for the years 2013 and 2014.

Yolanda Muñoz emphasized the great work of the team of the Ministry to which it belongs, and the invaluable assistance of the City of Lorca and its citizens "who are dumped in these jobs are performed with diligence, responsibility and with full effect."
