Adif remains committed to commissioning the stretch-Eagles Lorca (Murcia) in the second quarter of this year (21/02/2013)

Adif remains committed to resume rail service between Lorca and Aguilas (Murcia) during the second quarter of this year.

This was confirmed by the COO and Development Network Adif, Alfonso Ochoa, the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar in the meeting yesterday in Madrid to discuss rail issues affecting the town.

Currently running Adif emergency infrastructure in that section to repair the damage caused by floods in the area late last September.

These works, which are developed over 16 km, represent an investment of 7 million euros.

At the meeting, the CEO of Operation and Development Network Adif informed the mayor of Lorca on the operations that are carried out to restore the service as well as improvements to be implemented in the infrastructure in relation to the situation above.

The rail link will improve once Lorca run the platform of the new high speed line Almería-Murcia, which stretches into the environment are running Lorca (Totana-Lorca) and writing project (Lorca-Almendricos).

Adif works with the Ministry of Public Works and the City Council to find sustainable solutions for the future of rail in Lorca, able to meet the needs of citizens and viable in economic and technical terms.
