The Department of Earthquake helps more than 160 communities of owners to begin its work of reconstruction and repair (02/04/2013)

This municipal service has been involved in the establishment of 14 new communities of owners, which has led to those affected by the earthquake aid access to repair or rebuild their homes.

Councilwoman Recovery Management for the City of Lorca Earthquake, Satur Martinez, has reported that this municipal area has managed to proceed to the establishment of a total of 14 Community of Owners of buildings damaged by earthquakes (both demolished as in need of repair) that did not have this type of entity before the earthquakes of 2011.

The mayor explained that this is an indispensable resource to proceed with the application of the aid provided, and therefore develop the work of repair or reconstruction of public areas.

Note that the formation of these communities has allowed the residents of these 14 properties listed access financial assistance.

The process of formation of these communities has been completed by conducting sessions with the neighbors, both at headquarters and in the Department of the buildings in question.

In this respect it should be mentioned that since this municipal area has worked to complete in full a total of 160 dossiers for communities of owners of buildings and homes demolished after the earthquakes.

This is a work in which we have acted neighbors leading to the formation of the necessary documents to apply for relevant aid and has allowed the victims to repair or rebuild their buildings and homes.

Satur Martinez noted that the results of the work done by this Department have paid off.

We greatly helped those affected by the earthquake, which could contribute to repair or rebuild their homes.

We have developed a work over the last two years of continuous effort, very intense work sessions and all types of incidents.

This Department was based on scepter, we did not have a role model, given the special circumstances and the particular service that we put in place.

We are a pioneer Department, unprecedented in our country, and, according to the results and the work been completed, we can say we have done well, with common sense and by solving the various problems that we received large doses of hard work.

We have spent anxious moments, but fortunately have remained behind.

It is true that we still have a ways to go, but the reality is that we have left behind the most difficult and we have articulated the mechanisms and tools necessary for citizens to have all the resources they required, have made largely contributed to accelerate the recovery process of the municipality.

The mayor of earthquake recovery explained that only in the first quarter of this year there have been 60 meetings with communities of owners, in addition to the 121 that were developed previously.

It should be noted also that during this first quarter of 2013 have held 342 meetings with neighbors affected by earthquakes.

In this same period have remained a total of 42 follow-up meetings with communities and mentoring owners of buildings damaged by earthquakes, in addition to the 51 previously performed.

Satur Martinez reported also that this area of ​​the City has been reviewing and drafting contracts of 36 at the request of interested neighbors.

This is in some cases documents for the procurement of technical services or, in others, construction companies to implement reconstruction and rehabilitation work.

The mayor of earthquake recovery has indicated that the legal services of this Department have helped 681 victims of the earthquake in terms of legal advice on issues such as inheritance, ownership of dwellings and monitoring leases, among other .

Since this Council have held a total of 67 meetings with various financial institutions that had home ownership, mortgaged or seized both collapsed buildings as in property repair.

Mediation of this Department has allowed many of these cases resolve existing issues and proceed with the reconstruction or repair.

These meetings have also been developed with supply companies, in this case linked to technical issues that have managed to be unlocked, allowing neighbors begin work of rebuilding.

Over 17,584 consultations on questions answered earthquake

Satur Martinez noted that since the launch of this municipal service on July 1, 2011, has treated a total of 16,004 requests for information (phone calls, emails, letters ...) on issues related to different aspects earthquakes.
