The City accelerates the implementation of a new series of works to repair damage caused by earthquakes (11/04/2013)

The most prominent intervention is to repair the damage appeared in the Bridge of Cake, one of the first concrete buildings that used to constitute its structure and an emblem of the city.

Councilman Works and Municipal Services City of Lorca, Angel Mecca, has reported the launch of an ambitious battery of measures to make good the damage caused by the earthquakes of 2011 in various locations in the municipality.

It is a series of works representing a global economic pillar 540,436.43 euros financed in full by the Solidarity Fund of the European Union, including the following interventions:

Wall reconstruction and repair of damage caused by the earthquake of May 11, 2011 in the residential streets and crossing River Road, in the hamlet of Rio.

This is a work that has a budget of EUR 53,191.58 contract provisions and with a lead time of two months.

The intervention will be developed in this regard involves the construction of a concrete wall with 17 meters in length and three in height, consisting mainly in repairing damage appeared different in the above development.

It shall, moreover, to the extent of a layer of hot bituminous mixture for replenishment and strong reinforcement.

The project will enable residents to have a street more safe, comfortable and a road sign with a completely renovated.

The most significant work will probably repairing a building emblematic lorquina, such as Bridge of cake.

Remember that this popular infrastructure is included in the list of protected properties in the General Plan of the City Municipal Ordination.

We are talking about a bridge for pedestrian use and municipal property built in 1910.

This is one of the first concrete bridges built in Spain.

It has a single span of 45 m span.

It consists of two parallel parabolic arches reinforced with stiles and a top board of 4 m wide.

Repair has been budgeted at EUR 240115.99, setting a deadline of two months.

The actions and focus on the same structural reinforcement and repair of cracks appeared after the earthquake, and proceeding to consolidate its structure and boards.

Repair balustrade campus located in park, damaged by earthquakes last 11 May.

It has a budget of 113,097.51 euros, a lead time of 4 months and the planned actions in this regard are:

Demolition and debris removal old balustrade, even foundation.

Supply and adequacy of foundation concrete and wall elevation.

Supply and installation of a replica of the existing balustrade.

Repair deteriorated pavement, sidewalks.

Project repair damage caused by the earthquake on the streets of San Jose Eras.

It has a budget of EUR 46,612.98 and a lead time of two months.

The works include:

Demolition of deteriorated pavement and sunk.

Withdrawal excavation sub base material, to be in poor condition, to a depth of 5m and 5 meters wide, which is half of the street is where lies the sinking

Forwarding services affected (supply and sanitation)

Fill with artificial gravel subbase

Paving with hot mix asphalt and replacement of sidewalks

Project repair the damage to the existing lighting at the entrances and on the walls of the castle of Lorca because of earthquakes.

This is a performance that includes a budget of EUR 87,418.37 and a lead time of six weeks work.

The intervention includes the replacement of lighting (spotlights and beacons), including the wiring of the following areas:

Lorca Castle Wall

Alfonsina Torres

Ram Torres

Access road to the Castle of Lorca
