Joaquin Bascuñana highlights the commitment of the Government of Spain to Lorca to present the new police station National Police (03/05/2013)

The design parameters due to flexibility, ease of maintenance and ease of adaptation to new situations

The Government delegate in Murcia, Joaquin Bascuñana, presented this morning at the Palace of Guevara in Lorca the proposed new police station National Police, whose works will start presumably in Autumn, and will replace the current facility, significantly damaged after the earthquake of May 11, 2011.

Accompanied by the mayor, Francisco Jodar Cyril and Duran, Police Commissioner in the region, Bascuñana stressed that, with this work, the Government of Spain responds to the commitment made at the time by the Interior Minister, Jorge Fernández Díaz, through the Director General of Police, Ignacio Cosidó, which announced its construction during the visit to the city on January 25, 2012.

This project has been a priority of the National Police and its design has been conceived to offer the best possible service to citizens and adapt to the working reality of the century.

The plot, transferred in fee simple by the City of Lorca is located in Camino del Gato, an expansion zone of the city, and has an area of ​​1670 m2.

It will lift a building with a floor area of ​​2170 m2 1750 m2 above ground and below ground.

The Government delegate stressed that the new station addresses two fundamental issues, the vocation of public service of the National Police and the necessary reserve in the daily work of police investigation and dynamic character said that the actions of different ministries in the center City are having on the reality of the city by reclaiming its best assets.

Future units will dramatically improve the performance of the current home offering an enhanced service to the public in the issuance of identity card and passport, among other services.

The Commissioner highlighted the enormous benefits from the operational point of view, will this building for the work of the police and particularly appreciated the spaciousness, lightness and ease of access for citizens to the police themselves.

The mayor, Francisco Jodar, welcomed the project and appreciated the commitment of the Government of Spain and the magnificent coordination between the two administrations.
