40 youth from Lorca begin a training contract annual EmpleaT municipal programs and 'You and your neighborhood' (22/05/2013)

Employment Councilwoman City of Lorca, Eulalia Ibarra has reported that these projects represent an investment of € 556,561, financed between the City and FEDER, through the Urban Community Initiative of Uptown.

The Councillor for Employment and Local Development Council of Lorca, Eulalia Ibarra, inaugurated this morning the second edition of the employment promotion programs for young 'EmpleaT' and 'You and your neighborhood', with those who have contracted for 12 months to 40 young Lorca under 30, 10 more than in the first edition was completed in January.

Ibarra said "we announced that our priority in the Urban Community Initiative of the districts of Lorca in the coming years would promote employment and social integration programs, and we have shown in this increase of more than one 33% of the beneficiaries of these two programs, which have been selected by opposition among applicants who met the published bases on the municipal website. "

In fact, both programs have a total investment of € 556,561

The mayor explained that "since the 1st of this month until the April 30, 2014, ten students masonry workers and other coatings ten participate in Em-G, while 16 of this until 15 May next year participate in the program "You and your neighborhood" ten student workers painting and other operations ten domestic air conditioning plumbing and heating.

These workers sign a contract for training and learning from one year receiving € 540 per month, 75% of the minimum wage, with 30 hours of actual work that will result in improvements uptown and 10 hours of training complementary.

For the formation of these participants have been selected 4 monitors that will accommodate learning professional certificates.

The objective of this program is to contribute to the employment of one of the sectors hardest hit by unemployment, as well as receive theoretical and practical training will receive an income that will help them meet their expenses, which will be a help to their families .

The Urban Initiative for "Barrios Altos de Lorca" is a project which aims to achieve social advancement, education and economic of this area of ​​the city which includes the districts of San Lazaro, Calvario, San Pedro, Santa Maria, San Juan and San Cristobal.

It is funded by the City of Lorca and the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Urban Initiative foreseen under Axis 5 of "local and urban sustainable development", the ERDF Operational Programme 2007 - 2013 in the region of Murcia.
