The Joint Commission due to earthquake victims over 21 million euros and denied 52% of the cases examined until end of March (19/06/2013)

Socialist regional deputy, Manuel Soler alleged that the Joint Commission due to the earthquake victims of Lorca over 21 million euros.

In response to questions posed by Rep. Manuel Soler in the Regional Assembly, the Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, acknowledged in a report dated April 1, that until the session number 23, the Joint Committee had approved 6,240 cases of aid to housing and commercial 226, for a total of 51.3 million euros.

For its part, the payments made to date to beneficiaries amounted to 30.2 million euros and past two years without pay is 41% of the approved amount.

Soler is surprised by the amount of denied records, namely 52% of the analyzed until end of March, so a total of 13,542 have been rejected more than half, namely 7,076.

The deputy asked if the Autonomous Community will be very restrictive when assessing claims for paying smaller amounts, for 50% it has to pay the CARM, as Valcárcel signed with the Ministry of Development under Lorca ICO credit, amounting to 115 million euros.

"We do not understand that there are victims whose cases were approved within a few months of earthquakes occur and still not been paid."

Manuel Soler are asked what they expect public administrations to pay these amounts, which in many cases are hindering the return to normal of the city.

"If you have to rebuild a building and the neighbors do not have the money needed, it is delayed reconstruction," he lamented.

Socialist MP added that in many cases, policy makers neighbors complain PP be to blame for the delays that have taken place, for not providing the necessary documents.

In this regard, he stressed that the Socialists have contact with many residents concerned and have noted that there are applications approved since November 2011 and have not been paid.

Soler described as "surprising" that the amount of the grants approved are infinitely lower than the government estimates made at the time.

"If the Autonomous Community was granted 115 million provision for loan and payment of 50%, how is it that coming near the end of the records we're talking about these numbers," formulated.
