The Mayor of Lorca on Wednesday inaugurated the exhibition of Sylvia Tua "was Keicho-400 years of tribute to Japan", one of the cultural events of the Year Dual Spain-Japan (30/07/2013)

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar open tomorrow at 20 am Wednesday at the Cultural Center of the city the exhibition "400 years was Keicho-tribute to Japan" by the Catalan artist Sylvia Tua.

This show is one of the cultural events of the Year Dual Spain-Japan commemorating the 400 years of bilateral relations between the two countries since 1613 the samurai Hasekura Tsunenaga was the first Japanese to set foot on Spanish soil.

This exhibition of itinerant character, began in the Regional Museum in Lleida Tarrega last June, when it opened in the presence of the Consul General of Japan in Barcelona and the Director General of Foreign Affairs of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

The exhibition will be in Lorca until September 9th, where leave to continue along the Spanish geography until June 2014.

Sylvia Tua, known as the "painter of tributes," has been particularly sensitive to the town of Lorca as a result of the earthquakes of May 2011.

In fact, throughout the year 2012 held a joint exhibition titled "Homage to Lorca" which toured Catalonia, Valencia and France, sharing itinerary with the exhibition "Homage to Japan", in solidarity with the events of 2011 tsunami .

The artist would like to draw a link between Lorca and Japan through the natural disasters in these parts.

The sample is a sensitive and a bit special about the rich cultural history between two countries that have already taken root.

It consists of forty pieces made with different techniques-painting, drawing, sculpture, mosaic, collage, pointillism-by which explores the nexus of cultural and social union between Spain and Japan, providing a glimpse into Japanese culture multiparty art forms where recycling, nature and instinct are an important expression to the point that there are works made of completely natural way without any chemicals.

Sylvia Tua, who won his first prize for drawing at age 8 and the first prize of mosaic at 9, has in its curriculum with 17 exhibition tribute to Japan by the tsunami in 2011 and also in tribute to Lorca by earthquakes.

Tua's works are part of collections of art such as the Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya, while internationally are part of private collections in the USA, France, Italy, Austria, Holland and Japan.

In his role as restorer known for the frescoes in the dome of Palau Moya on the Ramblas in Barcelona.
