The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, received the President Murciano Center in Cordoba, Gustavo Ignacio Yepes, who has delivered the first mayor of the city of the publication entitled "Words to cross the sea."

This is a book that collects a wide range of stories and has been published to mark the twentieth anniversary of its creation.

The work, historical and social character, brings personal experiences about the migration process to Cordoba.

The stories he tells are the result of several literary competitions and personal interviews that describe the moments experienced by immigrants Murcia to leave his homeland and the vicissitudes of more than 10,000 km of travel.

The stories, arranged according to the place of origin of immigrants, provide a material that serves as a landmark for current and future generations of ancestry Murcia.

Among the stories we find stories of Lorca who immigrated to Argentina from Zarcilla Ramos, Marchena, La Torrecilla, The Parish and The Hoya.

From the Center Murciano claim that this publication is a humble tribute to all those immigrants Murcia who for various reasons, leaving family and friends, started a new life in Argentine territory.

The City of Lorca, in recognition of the work done by Lorca migrants in Argentina, presented the Distinguished Service Diploma City to Lazaro Perez Albarracin, founder in 1958 of the House of Spain in the province Argentina.

The handover took place during an event organized by the Center Murciano which was attended by a delegation from the Municipal Corporation headed by Mayor Lorca, Francisco Jodar, which granted the award in person.

Recall that Murciano Center in Cordoba (Argentina), is a non-profit civil association founded on May 18, 1992 by a group of Murcia immigrants and their descendants in that city Argentina.

This group, motivated by love for the "terroir", brought together members of the community established in this province.

The institution aims, on the one hand, the strengthening of Murcia culture in Cordoba, maintaining the traditions to keep the roots, and on the other, ensure social welfare and culture, constantly stimulating the interaction between Murcia and the community in general.

Currently has more than 1,300 partners, main beneficiaries of its activities.
