The activities will be aimed at older than 16 years who have suffered from the earthquakes in Lorca, 2011
The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, today signed a cooperation agreement with the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the president of the Association of Producers and Consumers of Natural Products Guadalentin 'Guadanatura' for the realization of the social project . "From Farm to Home Organic Farming Project: Training and Self" in the Integrated Center for Agricultural Training and Experience (CIFE) of Lorca.
Training courses will go to age 16 who have suffered the consequences of the earthquakes in Lorca, 2011 and are likely to generate self-employment from training courses on organic production methods.
The aim of these courses, which will be held in various places of CIFE Lorca, is to train and raise awareness of the production process of the different species and horticultural varieties in organic farming and teaching practices that are respectful of environment.
The agriculture minister stressed the importance of this activity for young people who may find in it an opportunity for self-employment, while contributing to the maintenance and promotion of rural farming.
Cerda said that "training in the agricultural sector is a very useful tool," adding that although the initial objective of this agreement is aimed at self-employment and consumption, "also aims to encourage long-term promotion of organic production."
