The Community invests about 745,000 euros in improving the road between Lorca Zarzadilla Totana (20/02/2014)

The Director of Roads, José Guijarro, today visited the works that are running on the regional road between Lorca Zarzadilla Totana (RM-C9), in which the Community invests about 745,000 euros.

Pebble stressed the importance of this pathway, which has a daily traffic intensity of 1200 vehicles, and also provides an alternative for connecting the town of Lorca in the region of the Mula River and the town of Aledo.

The improvement works of the road, covering 8.3 kilometers, started in mid-January, and is expected to conclude in May, announced the director.

The intervention being undertaken by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning is to redevelop torches, regularize the firm by reinforcing the same with two coats of asphalt mixtures, as well as cleaning, training and lining ditches with concrete in several sections .

The director explained that, in order to improve road safety, reconstruction of shoulders on both margins is performed.

Besides road markings will be renewed and the vertical will improve, "what other action at the intersection with RM-711 will join the road Caravaca de la Cruz, with the construction of a roundabout 30 m inner radius and Outdoor 35 ".

Recover 157 kilometers of roads

This action is part of the work program of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning for repairing 157 kilometers of regional roads Lorca environment affected by earthquakes in 2011 and has an investment of more than 47.5 million euros over the next four years.

In addition to the work of RM-C9 today visited the director right now are also running other three: RM-621 (Lorca-Puri), the RM-D26 (RM-620 Station) and RM- D16 (Puerto Lumbreras-Station).

The Highways Agency has now completed eight other repair pathways that are the RM-C22 (baths Fuensanta-Los Vélez), RM-D7 (Lorca-The Alporchones), RM-D9 (Campico López-RM 332) RM-D10 (Lorca-La Almenara), RM-701 (Lorca-La Parroquia), RM-C14 (Lorca-Zarcilla), RM-D11 (Camino Viejo del Puerto) and RM-D12 (Alcanara Road).

The other roads that are part of that work program connections recovery that began last year and completed in 2016, is in various stages of procurement and project writing.
