Councillor for Economy and Finance of the City of Lorca, Luis Amador, reported that successive austerity and efficiency measures implemented in recent years by the Consistory City have managed to quadruple the funding capacity of the City.
Amador explained that this represents a significant advance, since it was planned to have a capacity of 2.28 million euros finally increased to 8.29 million.
We're talking about an improvement estimated at 6 million euros, according to the provisions of the current rules apply, inter alia, to reduce debt and help improve the development of better services.
Luis Amador stressed that improving the financial accounts of the City is a reality.
We all know how was the economic situation of the Consistory in 2007 when we began our work in front of it.
The context in which we were was hard to get worse.
That situation has been overcome through the implementation of austerity measures and efficiency, we rationalized spending, eliminating superfluous special care items and the awarding of contracts and procurement of supplies and services.
This change for the better has not gone unnoticed by those who work for us.
Thus companies now all want to work for us, they know that they will charge in a timely manner, and therefore we offer lower prices and better conditions.
This is a remarkable day-to-day progress of our City.
The main measures that have helped to improve the situation have been the reduction of labor costs (without applying cuts), reducing the average payment period to suppliers (with the consequent decrease of the interest payment and the significant improvement in rates procurement of works, supplies and services).
These data are part of the report that the municipal service intervention made under the compliance plan for setting provider payment launched by the Government of Spain.
Note that the 3 plans initiated, the City of our city only had to go to the first one.
