The City of Lorca organized a visit to the association Housewives at Bodegas Luzon Jumilla by the World Consumer Day (13/03/2014)

The tour includes the 40 members released by the winery production premises and deposits, aging room, wine racks, the sanctuary where you store and guard the last bottles of each vintage, including a wine tasting accompanied by appetizer and a gift souvenir of their visit to the winery.

The Councillor for Health, Consumer Affairs and NGOs Lorca, Antonia Lopez, has reported that the Consistory Lorca organized during a visit today with the association Housewives at Bodegas Luzon Jumilla as a core activity for annual know the processes of different products for World Consumer Day, celebrated on March 15.

The tour includes the 40 members released by the winery production premises and deposits, aging room, wine racks, the sanctuary where they are kept and guarded as treasures the last bottles of each vintage.

At the end of a tasting of fine wines accompanied by snacks and a gift as a souvenir of their visit to the winery will be offered.

The mayor explained that the afternoon will visit the Monastery of Santa Ana in the heart of the mountains, in the shade of Picacho, and by the spring of the Fountain of Stein, the Franciscan Order chose this unique landscape to build the convent late sixteenth century.

Of the various rooms of the convent particularly noted the Hermitage, the Library, the Museum, the garden and the hermitages.

The convent has welcomed within its walls historically illustrious Franciscan (San Pascual Bailon, Father Salmerón, Andrés Ibernon Blessed, Father Juan Mancebón) and important literary (José Martínez Ruiz Azorin, Jose Luis Castillo Puche) they devoted to this convent some their texts.

In its dependencies, the Convent of Santa Ana boasts an important, ancient and valuable historical and artistic cultural heritage that the friars have been accumulating and preserving through the centuries thanks to donations and alms: paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, antiquities, fossils and handicrafts.

Highlights include images tied to the column (sculpted by Francisco Salzillo in XVIII) Christ, the Christ of the grating (large sculpture dated to the late sixteenth size) and Santa Ana Abuelica Of all the paintings that decorate the convent, include two platters attributed to the Renaissance master Juan de Juanes (XVI century).
