Civil Protection helicopter rescues with a walker in the southern foothills of the Sierra del Pericay (17/03/2014)

The Municipal Emergency Services of the City of Lorca, who participated in a preventive service of a hiking route, assisted in the rescue carried out by the Directorate General of Public Security and Emergency Autonomous Region, in the hamlet of North La Culebrina.

Councilman Emergency Lorca, Eduardo Sanchez, reported yesterday, Sunday, March 16, held the 1st hiking trail Lorca Foot 2014 for the northern part of town, specifically in the reservoir Valdeinfierno and Sierra Pericay with a distance of 14 km, establishing a preventive service by the Municipal Emergency Services with two people and an ATV.

However at 13:53 pm another call from the organization receives reporting that another hiker has fainted on the south side of the Sierra del Pericay to 860 meters.

This is a 58 year old male who loses consciousness for 30 seconds.

The staff of the Municipal Emergency Service searched the nearest vehicle access to the place of incident, based on the person first aid actions.

Due to the difficulty of evacuating hikers land is requested, the Emergency Department, the mobilization of the helicopter, moving to Rafael Mendez to collect medical equipment.

The person is rescued at 15:58 hours and towards the Rafael Mendez Hospital, reaching it at 16:08 hours.
