Education extends the CEIP Andrés Soler García Lorca with a new gymnasium and classrooms to promote better training of students (24/03/2014)

The Minister of Education, Universities and Employment, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, today visited the Center expansion and Primary Education García Andrés Soler, including a new gym, classrooms and other complementary facilities that favor the best training and learning the almost 400 students are there in this school.

The new educational infrastructure, which represents an investment of 900,000 euros, consists of a gym, cafeteria and kitchen, multipurpose room and four classrooms to be used for remedial classes and splittings and development programs to improve the quality of training implemented by the teaching staff of this bilingual center.

Pedro Antonio Sanchez and Francisco Jodar highlighted the work done by the school management and teachers and dynamism to take action and participate in educational programs to improve school quality and student success.

In fact, this year the center has joined the program 'Entrepreneurship in My School' to encourage entrepreneurship at school age.

"These new facilities help the faculty to better develop their teaching within the '+ Quality + School Success' strategy and promote student learning. Moreover, the kitchen and cafeteria allow better serve families. Such an extension of the school is another example of the commitment of regional government with Lorca and the efficient and effective collaboration with the city, "said Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

The school also has dedicated staff to provide specific educational support to meet the specific educational needs of students with disabilities 25, seven students with learning disabilities, 17 students with hearing and language needs and seven other students with compensatory support.

The center also participates Actions II Regional Plan for Prevention, Monitoring and Control of Absenteeism and Dropout.

Workday

The Minister of Education and the mayor of Lorca also visited the Special Education Center Pilar Soubrier, wherein studying 137 students, 72 of whom are self-employed and 65 have partial autonomy in need of supervision and direct care adults.

This EEC is one of the regional reference and serves students of Eagle, Alhama, Cartagena, Fortuna, Fuente Alamo, La Union, Librilla, Lorca, Mazarron, Torre Pacheco, Sangonera Green and Totana.

It has seven lines and busing students also feature 32 serviced residence.

To provide the best training to these students with disabilities and provide the best service, the EEC Soubrier Pilar has an educational team of 41 teachers and a counselor, 27 technical education assistants, four nurses, a social worker five physiotherapists and four educators .

Joint working day from the Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment and the City of Lorca also included a visit to the business incubator La Torrecilla, home to entrepreneurs who are running projects that generate employment.
