The Mayor calls "final push" to recover the historical district on aid for 6 million to repair damaged property protected by earthquakes (07/07/2014)

This support includes 80% of the investment required for the repair of the structural elements of buildings (roofs and facades) and 100% of the protected elements

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar has called "final push" approval by the Monitoring Committee of the Master Plan for the Recovery of Historical Heritage Lorca damaged by earthquakes in 2011, aid for repair agent's historical district that have a protection grade 2. The mayor has stated in this regard that this entity (which this morning held a work session at City Hall in our city) are trying actions that remain, which are the most difficult administratively, since we are talking real private property (homes or other types of buildings) that for various issues (not being occupied, second homes ...) not have been eligible to cases of aid provided to date.

These homes feature a 2-degree protection and we have achieved, after much effort, included in this Plan.

We talked about a plan that is characterized as a living document, continually evolving and expandable.

The result of these actions together today's meeting Plan brings to the table a grant proposal for this type of property.

Overall, this support includes 80% of the investment required for the repair of the structural elements of buildings (roofs and facades) and 100% of the protected elements.

It is a very significant advance.

The Mayor explained that this meeting of the Committee of the Master Plan for Recovery Lorca Heritage damaged by earthquakes in 2011 has served mainly to move forward in the recovery of our architectural treasure.

We emphasize that the work of this organization has been very intense and fruitful.

We have succeeded in overcoming my stage.

At first our goal was to respond urgently to the most serious damage caused by earthquakes form.

It was the emergency stage, a time of rapid and shoring to prevent the monuments come down performances.

Fortunately that stage was overcome, and now, having solved the most urgent problems facing the time to go we have left to do in the old town has arrived.

We are fully involved in this task, going from house to house, in permanent contact with their owners, for concrete repair needs and investment that is needed.

The President of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain, Alfonso Muñoz Cosme, recalled that the Master Plan for Recovery Heritage contemplated actions in a total of 75 properties of interest.

The new line established by the CARM for recovery of houses with grade 2 protection will predictably intervene in some 35 properties.

So far the extent of implementation of this Plan exceeds 50%, while its financing is committed almost entirely.

The Director General of Cultural and Artistic Education CARM Carmen Batres, stressed that helps to recover these properties amounted to € 6 million.

According to documents prepared by the technicians (who have met with the owners of these properties) would benefit from this series of economic assistance 19 homes and other buildings (up to 35 buildings).
