The International Horse Fair FERICAB consolidates Lorca in Spain among the first five (10/10/2014)

The first deputy mayor of Lorca, Francisco Felix Montiel, has reported that the International Horse Fair FERICAB, "increases in its 19th edition even more important in the cattle fairs circuit and consolidated among the five equine fairs of Spain ".

The event will be held between 16 and 19 October at the fairgrounds in Santa Quiteria of Lorca.

So far 170 have registered horses, mares and foals Purebred Spanish (PRE), from about 50 studs.

The deputy mayor, who was accompanied by Gil Fulgencio, vocal spokesman FERICAB, and Victor Jimenez, member of the same, highlighted the increase in quantity and quality that has experienced this international exhibition, both in number of individuals and exhibitors.

Francisco Montiel recalled the involvement of the City of Lorca in this event, which also has the support of the Government of the Region of Murcia, the National Association of Breeders of Purebred Spanish Horses (ANCCE) and the company Melpi.

Among the biggest events is FERICAB Morphological-Functional Competition, plus conferences and exhibitions of various kinds, such as dressage shows or Indoor contest traditional hooks.

There will also be two tributes: the Cavalry Squadron of the Civil Guard, closely linked to the Holy Week Lorca and especially the Paso Azul, and the dean of Lorca riders, Pedro González Carrasco, colloquially as Perico known Cows, which at 87 years is closely linked to the practice and teaching of riding.

The deputy mayor recalled that "September is the month of Lorca fairs, with two events, and FERAMUR SEPOR, which have had a major success and a lot of quality. Confident that FERICAB also have a similar reception."

Participation is one of the focuses of this show, Montiel added, noting that they are handing out more than 60,000 invitations, emphasizing schools to spread the culture of horse among younger Lorca.

In addition, the deputy mayor wanted to "congratulate individuals, associations, institutions and organizations, for the excellent work they have done, they do and they will do to enhance FERICAB and the livestock sector in general."

Gil Fulgencio recalled that "although the horse world has experienced a decline, with the disappearance of half of trade fairs, FERICAB is a success, with more than 120 copies of Spanish Pure Breed"

"This international fair participation commitment -HA Gil added, and cooperates with the Health Protection Associations (ADS), along with the last of the national circuit where farmers can submit their copies to score."

In previous editions, FERICAB has had a massive influx of people, Fulgencio Gil added, "with the help of institutions, to much publicity that their promotion among children and does, with events such as school ponies."

This year, performances Saturday and Sunday will be numbered, at a nominal price tiers, while Friday will remain free.

Meanwhile, Victor Jimenez recalled that "between Lorca and horses there is a historical link, which is evident in Easter but goes further and comes always" and wanted to invite visitors to Lorca and come to this new edition of FERICAB, "because it's worth looking at these specimens Purebred Spanish and see them in action."

Although FERICAB goes back to medieval times, its current configuration comes from the late twentieth century, being about to celebrate its twentieth anniversary.

The International Horse Fair Lorca achieved international category in 2013.
