Undersecretary of Public Works, Mario Garcés, and General Director of Architecture, Housing and Land, John Van-Halen, today signed an agreement with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and Lorca City Hall for the rehabilitation of 335 houses and 74 other building in the town of Lorca.
The agreement signed today is part of the housing agreement signed last September 26, the Minister of Development, Ana Pastor, and President of the Region of Murcia, Alberto Garre.
In the 2013-2016 State Plan preferential treatment to the actions to be taken in the town of Lorca to help alleviate the effects of the earthquake that occurred on May 11, 2011 in Lorca is given.
Through this agreement, the Ministry of Development in Lorca allocated 2.79 million euros, to which the contribution of the autonomous community and individual investment adds.
Aid for the construction will be up to 30,000 euros per household, while for rehabilitation will be up to 11,000 euros per household.
The limit in both cases is 35% of the cost.
In relation to aid those affected by the earthquake that struck on Lorca, from 2011 until today, the Ministry of Public Works has transferred an amount of 23,808,523.87 euros for the reconstruction, rehabilitation or repair of their housing, which added to the contribution he has made the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia stands at 47617047.7 euros.
In parallel, the Ministry of Public Works will invest in the town of Lorca first annuity in 2015 of two million Eurosa through SEPES to finance the construction of 40 protected housing for families who have lost their homes as a result of that earthquake.
The Ministry of Public Works will proceed with the recovery of the Church of St. Mary and rehabilitation of the environment, providing a first installment in 2015 of 600,000 euros.
