The regional government extends the works of Lorca urban renewal projects in two districts affected by earthquakes (14/11/2014)

The regional government has given the green light to an addendum to the agreement between the Community, through the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning, and the City of Lorca, in order to expand the urban renewal of neighborhoods affected by 2011 earthquakes.

Specifically, the new agreement includes the action plan developed by the regional government, the works of urban renewal district Virgen de las Huertas (Santa Quiteria) and from Cristo Rey-Health.

This is to promote the implementation of various activities of urban renewal, regeneration of public spaces, comprehensive rehabilitation and accessibility improvements in those neighborhoods.

Both projects are in addition to those that will be developed soon in Eulogio Periago Street, Santa Clara Avenue, Avenue of Europe and adjacent areas as well as on the street Abellaneda neighborhood of San Cristobal.

They will also be held at the Mall of Cervantes, Juan Carlos I Avenue and adjacent spaces and residential neighborhood of Los Angeles and Apollonia.

This set of actions over 32 million euros will be allocated.

As a result, the regional government continues the initiatives in the town to mark the urban renewal agreement signed in December 2012, which has enabled the development of urban development operations in neighborhoods such as the Vineyard, San Jose and Alfonso X, between other.

All urban renewal actions are funded by the Community under the granted by the European Investment Bank, which amounts to a maximum of 185 million euros for the recovery of the town of Lorca after the earthquake loan.
