Lorca Mayor Francisco Jodar has announced the nomination of Embroidery Lorca and Staging in Parade Passionate Bible-Easter has managed this morning its official designation as a candidate of Spain to UNESCO for rating Intangible Heritage of Humanity after supporting the effect of the National Heritage Council

Francisco Jodar has stated that it is a major achievement that makes us look back to see the path to get to the place we've got going.

Lorca, above any other issue, has worked together for establishing the milestones, as were the awards as International Tourist Interest and cataloging as a Cultural many elements related to our processions, including textiles which feature unique to Spain with such a degree of protection.

I'm really excited, we've put a lot of excitement and enthusiasm in this process.

Reaching this milestone has not been easy, we have had to work hard.

We had difficult moments we managed to leave behind because the spirit of achievement of Lorca and passionate legacy built by generations of procesionistas deserve global recognition we want showing itself permanently.

We have had to spend many filters to achieve this position.

The Mayor stressed the particular form of work for 4 years is being done within the Association "Art Embroidery Lorca and its staging in passion-biblical scrolls", whose contribution is going to be key to surpassing phases, completing documentation and boosting our bid.

Jodar Alonso stressed that those who truly deserve this recognition are those who make possible our Easter;

from the embroidery gives the last point has to parade banner, to ordering the butler procession, and even those who clean our chariots and thrones.

The mayor has indicated that a few weeks ago that we were getting technical report supporting the proposal that has supported the National Council today.

It has gotten so difficult.

A few months ago we reported that the quota for applicants had closed, and we work hard to reopen, which we managed successfully.

An exciting task ahead of us is;

the way of the Declaration as a World Heritage Site, which has now gone through Lanzarote, tomorrow has arrived in Paris at Unesco.
