The Socialist Party calls for justice for the victims of floods and requires immediate assistance to the most affected families (21/01/2015)

Soler asks the CHS, performing the works in the wadi for channeling rainwater and the districts of Campillo and Torrecilla longer be considered as flood zones.

The Speaker of the Socialist Municipal Group, Manuel Soler Miras said recently at a press conference that "we are doing an injustice by National and Autonomous Partido Popular leaving helpless to all families who, during floods, lost agricultural and livestock farms and, not having agricultural insurance, have not received help from the government ".

Specifically, Soler says that "only 10 families received a little support from the joint board to solve some of their most immediate needs."

From the Socialist Municipal Group recalls that "the waters swept in its wake all crops and livestock farms where thousands were drowned livestock and infrastructure of all kinds. In particular, in our town, the districts most affected were Torrecilla, Campillo, Puri and Cazalla ", so I added" these neighbors may not recover from the consequences of this catastrophe without assistance from administrations ".

Soler Miras wanted to point out that "following the floods of September 2012, Torrecilla and Campillo have been declared by the Segura basin as floodplains, creating great uncertainty among its inhabitants exactly not know what kind of damage they can bring such qualification of their land. "

"At the moment, he adds there are more than 20 neighbors who are suffering delays in obtaining licenses to build their houses in these villages because, apparently, the CHS, is not giving favorable reports that the City may grant planning permission. "

In this regard, the Spokesman of the Municipal Group Socialist considered "urgent need" the realization of works for the widening of the streams that run through the towns of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras and especially in the Rambla de Biznaga, which in certain areas has disappeared almost entirely.

Manuel Soler explains that "we can not allow delay any longer the start of these works, unfortunately in Lorca does not rain much but all know that, at times, when it does, is in torrents, and if no measures for the channeling of water are taken is replayed the same scenes that were experienced in 2012 ".

Socialists call to the Autonomous Community to repair the injustice being committed with flood victims and, once, to provide support to families who were most affected.

Soler recalled that in the monograph Lorca held in plenary on the ARM, on September 24 on a proposal of the Socialist Group, "two resolutions that come has been adopted to solve these problems, among others, but we note with surprise that in the Estimates of both the State and the CARM, budget items do not appear to comply with the agreements.

Therefore, Soler says that "in the next Full Council socialists defend a motion for the Council requiring the CARM that meets the resolution number 20 and provide financial support for the families who lost more than 70% of the value of their holdings as was approved, and the Ministry of Agriculture rush the works of widening and conditioning both the Rambla de Biznaga as all flowing into this and it looks like this solved the problem of flood zones Torrecilla and Campillo ".
