The regional government has approved a proposal of the Ministry of Presidency and Employment, a grant to the Consortium for Fire Fighting, amounting to 1,600,000 euros for the construction of the new Fire Station Lorca, since the current is very deteriorated due to the earthquakes of May 2011.
The new fire station will be located in the industrial area of ​​Los Peñones and will have a floor area of ​​over 2,600 square meters.
Construction work will begin within approximately four months and the execution time is 12 months.
The new building will also include seismic systems to avoid deterioration in an earthquake, and have a total of 10 vehicles, among which are eight fire trucks with fire extinguishing devices and a zodiac for performances Salvage.
The park will feature a workshop for performing maintenance of vehicles, as well as various areas for staff use as dining room, living room, gym and training room.
In the Fire will serve nearly 50 people who ensure 24 hours a day, a quick response to emergencies in which they had to intervene.
