The Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, announced the holding of two meetings of the "Encounters with author" organized by the Municipal Libraries of Lorca.
"This activity," said Montiel, "is a tool to encourage reading in schools, providing the opportunity to talk directly with the authors."
The mayor stressed that "during Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28, 300 students from various schools of Primary attend the Children and Youth Library Cultural Center in the morning to meet the author Ana Alonso".
In this sense, Montiel said that "We are honored to have this author who has just been awarded the XII Anaya Prize for Children's Literature, award testifies to its good literary do."
Ana Alonso was born in Terrassa in 1970. He has published eight books of poetry, receiving prestigious awards such as the Hyperion (2005), Critical Eye Poetry Prize (2006), Antonio Machado Prize in Baeza (2007) or Alfons the Magnanimous Valencia Prize poetry in Castilian (2008).
Among his books aimed at children and young people, in addition to written by Javier Pelegrin ("The Key of Time", "Jinn"), highlights the Pinch of Salt collection, aimed at primary school, which belongs "A crocodile mysterious "book presented in Lorca.
Montiel has detailed that "today will be the school of the Virgen de las Huertas, Casa del Niño and Anne Richard Caicedo those who have the opportunity to talk to Ana Alonso, while tomorrow will be the turn of students Pérez de Hita, Sacred Heart and Alfonso X El Sabio ".
