Lorca this weekend will host the Annual Congress of the Federation of Songs and Dances of Spain (06/03/2015)

The congress will attend more than one hundred people, and from FACYDE support the candidacy of Embroidery Lorca from Easter to Intangible Heritage of Humanity at UNESCO.

The Councillor for Culture and Celebrations of the City of Lorca, Sandra Martinez, President of the Federation of Songs and Dances of Spain (FACYDE), José Serrano, and the President of the Association Art of Embroidery in Lorca, Eduardo Sanchez Abadie, presented this morning the Annual Congress of the federation to be held in Lorca during this weekend to mark the 70th anniversary of Songs and Dances of Lorca.

Sandra Martinez reported that the conference will be held at the Parador Castillo de Lorca and attend more than one hundred congressmen.

Today, with 59 FACYDE folklore associations, including Songs and Dances of Lorca is.

It has the support of nearly 6,000 people dedicated to working for the conservation of the cultural heritage of Spain.

In addition, the federation is a member of the International Dance Council of UNESCO, and there have been several awards and citations for those who have been rewarded for their work in conservation and dissemination of folklore.

The mayor explained that the activities will take place between now and March 8.

Tonight's Songs and Dances of Lorca will host a dinner at its headquarters to acknowledge the presence of the federation in the city.

On the day tomorrow, will be inaugurated by the Mayor of Lorca, the Assembly to be held throughout Saturday morning.

On Sunday, March 8, members of FACYDE make a tour of the Fortaleza del Sol and the Synagogue to learn about the history of Lorca.
