The Mayor of Lorca and the Minister of Agriculture visited the premises Insemination Equine Center occasion Stop Stallions (18/03/2015)

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Adela Martinez-Cache, this morning visited the Center for Artificial Insemination Equine Center for Integrated Agricultural Training and Experience (CIFE) of Lorca, during Stop stallions of the Spanish army and the Association of Breeders of Pure Breeds of the Region of Murcia (ACCRPRM).

The mayor explained that by the Military Stud, copies participating in this stop is two pure Spanish race, a horse sport and an Andalusian ass.

For its part, contributes ACCRPRM five Spanish thoroughbred horse race, a Friesian a hispanoárabe and two pure Arabian breed.

This Insemination Centre was established in 2006, thanks to a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and the city of Lorca.

In it the covering of mares to farmers who request it, applying a reference technology in reproductive techniques natural mating and artificial insemination is facilitated.

It will take place throughout the year in the case of ACCRPRM, until June 16 with Military Stud stallions.

This center also training and research programs are developed and is approved by the European Community for handling, mining, refrigeration, freezing and shipping of genetic material from the equine species worldwide.

Inseminations costs are borne by the owners of the copies, and vary depending ACCRPRM of fixing the price according to the agreement that comes with each owner.

Where appropriate, the Military Yeguda determines the price of 115 € in any breed of horse and 58 € in the Andalusian donkey also adds a plus of 58 € by sending each dose of semen in horses and 27 € in ass.

The Mayor has also reported that this stop is a service offering that takes several years to Lorca and is a benefit for farmers throughout the region.

It has also improved the lorquina horse population, which is currently the most important in the Region of Murcia.

Similarly the great evolution in the region in this sector over recent years is due, among other things, the use of these animals in sport, equine and rural tourism.
