The formation magenta candidate for mayor of Lorca, Juan Manuel Cabrera, said that the cultural sector in the town "has been one of the hardest hit by the economic crisis in recent years"
Juan Manuel Cabrera, candidate of Union Progreso y Democracia mayor of Lorca, considers the cultural and scheduling these activities "has been reduced to a minimum due to the lack of investment from the municipal government."
In that sense, "a clear commitment to support cultural development, especially to those activities in which citizens are actively involved themselves through cultural and artistic associations."
"Faced with the subsidy policy for major events," Cabrera wants to reverse this model to encourage and support the various associations that promote the popular culture in all sectors of the population.
Cabrera believes that a reduction in public investment must take major events promoting funding formulas and private sponsorship.
It also indicates that any kind of subsidy "should be administered according to their social, cultural or health utility and access to the largest possible number of neighbors" and not promote any client network.
Finally, the formation magenta candidate for mayor of Lorca proposes the creation of a system of public access to such "transparent" aid to all residents "know what each association receives grants or cultural event of the city, by the publication on the municipal website in a clear, simple and accessible to all forms ".
