Lorca university emphasizes its profile with the celebration of 4 new courses at the University of the Sea (12/06/2015)

The courses to be taught are: "Multidisciplinary Meeting on Care and Support Staff", "Early Childhood Intervention: An Interdisciplinary Intervention", "II International Course of Medieval Archaeology of Sefarad" and "Physical Activity and Health in Adolescence".

Each seminar has a total duration of 25 hours and the university will have the opportunity to get, with their implementation, 2.5 elective credits or 1 CRAU.

Councillors of Education and Culture of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel and Sandra Martinez, presented together with the Director of the International University of the Sea, Monica Galdana, presented the program of the University of the Sea for its headquarters in Lorca.

The offer includes a battery of four courses for 500 students.

Each seminar has a total duration of 25 hours and the university will have the opportunity to get, with their implementation, 2.5 elective credits or 1 CRAU.

The first course, called "Multidisciplinary Meeting on Care and Support Staff", will be held from June 25 to 27 the same month and will take place in Hall of the Faculty of Sociosanitary the University Campus of Lorca.

The goal is to treat the practice of care for older people in a holistic way, giving space to all socio specialties involved and offering a practical perspective the theoretical torque.

The course is divided into three sections, where issues of neurological diseases and physical care the most, as well as ethics and healthcare practice in geriatrics, respectively, will be discussed.

Under the title "Early Childhood Intervention: An Interdisciplinary Intervention," the second-year course leading celebrated with success thanks to the good reception of the students will develop.

It will be held from 20 to 24 July in the Auditorium of the University Campus of Lorca.

The aim with this course is that students and professionals are informed of the characteristics of children with developmental disorders or risk of suffering, know how to influence changes in the integral development, in their family, social and educational environment, learn methods of assessment and intervention methods from early intervention, understand the importance of coordination between the various institutions that serve the child with developmental disorders or risk of suffering and his family and enhance prevention in early intervention.

For this, the course is divided into five parts: the first establishes the conceptual framework of early childhood development and functioning models CDIATS and coordination with mental health.

The second will address the global interventional procedures in Early Intervention.

The following is related to language and communication in Early Intervention.

The fourth part of the course is referred to physiotherapy in Early Intervention and the last is a visit to CDIAT Fina Navarro López Lorca City Council to meet the performance and the work carried out with children in the center.

The third seminar presented by the International University of the Sea is the "II International Course of Medieval Archaeology of Sefarad", to be held in different locations in the city such as the Castle and the Archaeological Museum, 20 July 22.

The aim of the course is to provide students with tools allowing him to identify and analyze those aspects of medieval material culture that may be considered distinguishing features of Jewish communities in the Islamic and Christian contexts of the Iberian peninsula during the medieval period.

To do so, the sessions will focus on the characterization of religious spaces, identifying indicators and archaeozoological classification and interpretation of the liturgical and domestic furniture.

The exceptional archaeological find of late medieval Castle Lorca Jewry and the fifteenth century synagogue will be the ideal place for the development of practical contents, which include working with original archaeological materials (ceramics, metals, glass) and scenario analysis buildings and archaeological contexts in situ.

"Physical Activity and Health in Adolescence" comprehensive course offerings that will host our town.

The date of the same will be from 10 to 12 September against the backdrop of the Hall of the University Campus of Lorca.

It seeks to establish an interdisciplinary approach it, the characteristics and psychological, social and functional needs that can be addressed from the point of view of the sport initiation and practice of physical activity to health.

Recognize the psychological orientation that provide indications about the development of coping resources, development and emotional management approaches and quality of life in adolescence, and offer the professional of physical activity and health, physical and psychological tools to complement its work to ensure greater efficiency in their work processes or with young athletes initiation or with young people who do physical activity as a complement to their habits of daily life.

During the courses there will be five hours of activities, such as visits to the historic center, the medieval walls and the Castle of Lorca, led by Andres Martinez Rodriguez, Director of the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Lorca that will reveal the archaeological and tourist heritage.

It is recalled that the first courses held at the University of Murcia in Lorca in the Classroom of the Sea were in 1995. From there, courses are held in 1996, 1997, 1999, almost all of historic archaeological theme.

From 2000 to the Sea International University, courses in the months of July and September, continuously performed to date.

There are basic or recurring themes have been repeated for several years: zoonoses, archeology / history (with the Archaeological Museum of Lorca), taxation (with the Institute of Fiscal Studies) and early intervention in premature infants (with CDIAT Lorca) .
