The special safety in summer sets 5 zones of activity in the municipality (30/06/2015)

National Police, Civil Guard and local police conducted joint inspections to ensure safety.

The Deputy Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, together with the Councillor for Public Safety, Maria Belen Perez, and the Deputy Secretary of the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia, Araceli Urrea, have chaired this morning's meeting Local Safety Board which discussed the special safety this summer.

The Board meeting was attended by representatives of Local Police, Civil Guard and National Police.

Belen Perez explained that the main objective set by the Department of Public Safety entails more effective presence of local police at the points where works for the improvement and renewal of urban infrastructure in order to ensure the smooth flow and safety are made Vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Preventive actions to be taken will be mainly the following:

Pedestrian surveillance in parks, playgrounds and gardens.

Surveillance by different streets and commercial and uncrowded places.

Control of unauthorized hawking and counterfeit goods.

Control of begging with and without children.

Control and monitoring of both the sale and consumption of prohibited substances on public roads.

Identities, registrations and searches, both people and vehicles.

Surveillance and control of ATMs.

Information and assistance to citizens.

Safety tips holiday period:

Do not open the door to strangers;

Ask at all times, staff utilities (telephone, electricity, gas, water, etc.) is identified.
