More than 1270 families have benefited from the "Bank Textbook Exchange" launched by the Youth Council of Lorca program (24/07/2015)

Councilman Youth council of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, this morning offered the first digits of the operation of Bank Textbook Exchange (BILT), which for the third year has launched the Youth Council Consistory Lorca.

Agustin Llamas said that through this initiative the municipality many families with school-age children have been able to acquire textbooks and leave 2nd hand of the stages of primary and secondary school so they can be used again by other students.

The mayor of Youth has highlighted the great reception that is taking this third edition of the Book Bank.

From June 29 to be launched already it has 1277 users, which translates into 1277 families have benefited from this program to their descendants in school age.

Notably, although the BILT is an initiative to citizens Lorca, through regional outreach that is taking the Book Bank project, people flock to the city from different geographical points of the Autonomous Community as Eagles, Torres de Cotillas, Puerto Lumbreras and Totana, among other books to benefit from 10 €.

He has also made possible the exchange of more than 1,300 books, considering that this year's books courses 2nd, 4th, 6th grade, 1st, 3rd of ESO and baccalaureate 1 have changed the reform of the Law LOMCE which means that in the BILT are working at 40%.

But even he has thus increased the number of users compared to last year as in the same period of 2014 were 830 families.

Llamas also referred to the program "Plant Your Books," an initiative to collect books out with 10 books each plant a tree in Lorca.

In this campaign the Bank carries Book Exchange 2920 collected a total of print books, equivalent to 292 trees to Lorca.

To participate in the project has been installed next to the university bookstore where BILT is done, some containers to deposit all those books no longer be used.

Youth Councillor recalled that the first period is open until July 31, and will open on September 1 until October 15.

Agustin Llamas thanked the cooperation of citizens participating in this initiative offering textbooks they no longer need, and offering the chance to buy books in good condition to other families with fewer economic resources.
