Lorca welcomes an exchange of 24 young people from Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Spain to promote sustainable development and solidarity (16/09/2015)

The Director General of Youth of the Autonomous Community, the Youth Councillor and President of the Youth Council of Lorca, this morning visited the project, which takes place from 14 to 22 this month with funding from the Erasmus + Youth in Action Programme EU.

The Director General of Youth of the Autonomous Community, Francisco Sanchez, Councilman Youth council of Lorca, Augustine Llamas, and the president of the Youth Council of Lorca, Luis Montiel, this morning visited the Youth Exchange 'SOS ... Comnunity 'which brought together 24 young Lorca Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Spain, six for each country, and a leader grupor by each state.

The meeting began on Monday 14 and will run until 22 this month and is developed through Cazalla Intercultural Association in collaboration with the Department of Youth and financing of Erasmus + Youth in Action Programme of the European Union.

The exchange, which is developing the new youth center in the University Campus of Lorca, is framed in the EU approach is to develop solidarity and raise awareness on sustainable youth development.

Llamas explained that "this exchange we want to promote the active citizenship of young people in building models of sustainable development, developing solidarity and promoting cultural diversity; foster debate, dialogue, respect, collaboration and capacity mutual understanding, increase the awareness of young people about alternatives for sustainable development and awareness of the different communities and societies based on ecosystem conservation and self-development affecting them ".

The mayor stated that "participants will learn about themselves, share their ideas and viewpoints in a multicultural environment, learning to speak English, to share their concerns about the world's problems related to the environment, society, the model of development, sustainability, employment, ... "

Together they will plant seeds, ideas for changing our sensitive environment and future, create videos and other attractions and juvenile products to present our ideas to other young people of our environments.

Young people also learn more about the possibilities offered by the Erasmus + Program to continue building initiatives at the local level, or participate in other exchanges, European voluntary service, etc.
