Hall, CARM, neighbors and collective progress in the preparation of a draft joint work to restore Almirez saw the fire that suffered this summer (16/09/2015)

Councillor of Rural Development and Environment Councillor of the City of Lorca, Angel Mecca and Satur Martinez, respectively, by the Deputy Director of Planning, Protected Areas and Defense of the Environment of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment of the Community Autonoma de Murcia, Juan de Dios Cabezas, met in La Paca Sunday with neighbors of the high districts of the municipality to present the outlines of the project which is scheduled to take to the recovery and reforestation of the Sierra del Almirez , an area severely punished after the fire that devastated last July.

At that meeting, with the participation of residents and associations as Espartaria Highlands, with its president Fernandez Welcome to the head, and O2 Forest lines of work that will continue for forest regeneration of the area affected by the fire were exposed and burned a total of 300 hectares.

To this end, it has created a work project completely open and participatory with the intention to obtain all the views of the people of that area and thus restore the forest as soon as possible.

In addition, at the meeting a schedule of planned activities for the next 10 years will be offered, with the main task of the 2015 remove the burned wood and reuse in hydraulic containment tasks and barricades in those areas.

The recovery plan of the Sierra del Almirez is part of the three plans prepared by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment.

The total investment of the plans is over 3.3 million, of which € 1,805,154 will go to the restoration of the environment of the Sierra del Almirez.

Being the natural heritage of the region, with immediate effect, this year they are going to allocate € 883,000 to the actions of regeneration.

Of these, € 500,702 correspond to the Sierra del Almirez.

All actions identified in the various recovery plans will have an environmental monitoring will cover the areas of biology, soil science and forestry, which will allow feedback on the plan with valuable information to enable its development and assess the degree of achievement of the objectives.

The Deputy Director of Planning, Protected Areas and Defense of the Environment also discussed possible lines of regeneration and protection of the districts high that it will launch the autonomous region, after the study being undertaken by the technicians of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment.
