Next Wednesday, December 2, at 19:00, the new ornamental lighting of the parish of St. James of Lorca, thanks to the contribution made by the Endesa Foundation, will open 45,478 euros.
The grant is requested by the Spanish Episcopal Conference institution that financed the restoration of the temple, under the agreement signed between the two entities and through a draft drawn up by the architect Juan de Dios de la Hoz, where he designed one new facility to add value to the building and to improve their conditions of use in religious ceremonies and highlight its artistic and cultural significance.
In total we have installed 195 points of light and continuous strips of LEDs, divided into 22 different lit, representing a total installed capacity of 6.9 kilowatts.
With this new facility can cover various burning question as lighting for ordinary use, enhancement of architecture or of the most unique elements of altarpieces, chapels and shrines, and of course, to the great liturgies.
In all cases, according to the architect's work, these techniques sustainable lighting, based on both energy conservation, and protection of historical and artistic goods, since practically all the lamps emit neither ultraviolet nor rays Infrared.
In addition, the luminaires are high energy efficiency, to achieve high emission levels with very low power requirement.
The use of next-generation LED technology has enabled savings of close to 60% in energy consumption compared to conventional incandescent, halogen or fluorescent sources.
To this it must be added that are light sources with a very high number of hours of operating life, which substantially reduces maintenance costs.
