Porlán Antonio, Francisco Jose Llamas, Daniel Motorcycles, Jesus Luis Guerrero and Guerrero have obtained the third position in the team championship recently held in Benidorm Spain.
The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, by the Councillor for Sports, Juan Francisco Martinez has received the cadet team of the Chess Club Lorca, which has obtained the third position in the Championship of Spain Cadet Team this morning.
The mayor has said that this prestigious tournament was held in Benidorm in early December.
Lorca team, composed of Antonio Porlán, Francisco Jose Llamas, Daniel Motorcycles, Luis Guerrero and Jesus Guerrero, counts as captain with Grandmaster and monitor club, Alfredo Giaccio.
They involved a total of 25 teams and about 150 players representing all Spanish regions.
Lorca took part as Regional Champions.
Francisco Jodar explained that it is the first time a team Murcia gets jump on the podium in the Championship of Spain.
This is a new example of the great work done by the Chess Club Lorca, who has accustomed us both great chess wins, especially among young people, and the organization of spectacular trials, such as the International Christmas Tournament will celebrate from this Saturday 26 to Wednesday 30 at the Gardens Hotel Amalthea and safely be successful.
The Mayor has expressed his congratulations to the young winners for the great result they have brought to our city.
They have proven to be the best in a sport like chess that requires skill, reflection, strategy and knowledge, and that's a reason to be proud.
