The Governing Council has approved extending the term to justify the grant for the restoration of the old House of Dr. Lopez de Teruel of Lorca, at the request of the homeowners, amounting to 219,931 euros.
The new deadline is extended until September 30, 2017.
The project of rehabilitation and restoration of the building was included in the Master Plan for the Recovery of Cultural Heritage of Lorca, adopted on October 28, 2011, in the public, social and cultural interest, after suffering extensive damage in the earthquake 11 May 2011 in Lorca.
The building is located in the historical set Lorca, declared of Cultural Interest with category of Historical Site.
The former home of Dr. Lopez de Teruel was built in the late nineteenth century and his style seems to be related to the famous architect Right Millan Murcia.
The planned measures include the consolidation and stabilization of the stairs, the restoration of roofs, replacement of railings, fascia and ornamental elements missing and new cladding of the walls of the facades and the restoration of ornamentation on the facades.
