The municipality unifies and enhances its tourist offer with a new promotional image under the motto "Lorca overboard" (12/01/2016)

All tourist products will be coupled under a single brand: Fortaleza del Sol, Lorca Taller del Tiempo, Semana Santa, crafts, folklore, domestic tourism and coast .... This win will get identity, strength and visibility

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, by the Minister of Economic Development and Tourism in the Region of Murcia, Juan Hernandez, and the Councillor for Tourism in the city of our city, Francisco Montiel, this morning presented to representatives of economic groups, social and political of the municipality's new tourism brand that has the vocation to be the mark of all Lorca, a city brand that not only give visibility to all activity in the town facing the visitor, but also the proud the citizen himself.

The mayor stressed that Lorca has been and is a prime tourist destination in this region.

Over the past few years they have been addressing works and infrastructure to add value to our heritage, our culture and our traditions.

Lorca emerges, thus, with great potential for attraction, family, cultural and gastronomic tourism leisure.

We are aware of our appeal and our enormous potential for the future.

Therefore, it is time to recover our identity, to create, to define a position as a tourist destination.

Francisco Jodar has stated that for the first time, all will be coupled tourism products under one brand: Fortaleza del Sol, Lorca Taller del Tiempo, Semana Santa, crafts, folklore, domestic tourism and coast .... This will get win in identity, strength and visibility.

We want to add a mark that identifies us all collectively but also to our guests.

A friendly brand to convey our values ​​of hospitality and cordiality.

A strong brand, which represents the ability to endure through the centuries and continue to create wealth and employment in such a strategic sector for our city as tourism.

It should be noted that to achieve this objective, the new graphic identity reflects a fact that makes us incredibly unique: the art of embroidery, an admired art and firmly advancing toward the goal of being listed as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO .

The Mayor pointed out that as we know in Lorca, is not only decorate embroider through gold or silk.

Sewing is to do something with art, neatly, with excellence.

And that is the spirit of Lorca with everything we do:

When we smile when we visit: the embroider.

When we keep the traditions: the embroider.

When we enjoy our cuisine: the embroider.

Because in Lorca, everything we do, we embroider.

This is the axis of communication that goes beyond a tourist slogan: it's our way of understanding life, to give the best of ourselves.

This is our new identity.

A brand and an image that looks to the future with energy, which invites you to discover Lorca and all Lorca continue embroidering.

This image will be applied to the various strategic products such as Easter, accommodation, art, culture and leisure, beach and nature, gastronomy, and few events of interest to tourists and citizens are made to the municipality.

This will be done by articulating specific pieces for various media, including print, radio and internet.

From the Department of Tourism, support and dissemination of this new campaign will be through the implementation of the new image to all the brochures and promotional items that are developed.

As for communication, dissemination campaign begins with the issuance of radio spots this month in Madrid;

an online campaign in different media with 3 months, from February to April or screens presence in Murcia capital.

As for the appearance in the usual publications in which the city has been publicizing past few years, the image will be in Paradores magazine, which is distributed in these online stores and distributes the "Amigos de Paradores" and magazine as "buckthorn" which is distributed on all flights by Iberia Regional.

In addition, as traditional technique of promotion, have been drawn up desktop calendars with city tourism products that already incorporate the new image, and other bulk material, such as magnets and stickers to give away at trade shows to potential customers.

It has also applied the new image to shirts and hats that will be available in the gift shop of Lorca Taller del Tiempo.
